PROFILE SUMMARY

Mr. Muhammad Shujaat Saleem has been associated with teaching Islamic as well as conventional finance courses at Mohammad Ali Jinnah University since 2007. He is an active researcher in the field of comparative study between conventional and Islamic finance. His research paper titled, “The Practice of Murabaha Financing According to AAOIFI Shariah Standards: Analysis on Islamic Banks in Pakistan” was selected for “The Best Paper Award” and a reward of $ 1000 by Islamic Development Bank in the 2nd International Conference on Islamic Economics, Banking and Finance (ICIEBF-2019) held on 5-6 January, 2019 at PC, Lahore. Moreover, his research paper titled “Applying Financial Efficiency to Mitigate Systemic Risk” was one of the 17 research papers worldwide which were selected and presented in the workshop held on 5th- 6th October 2015 in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain. This workshop was fully financed by the Islamic Development Bank. Previously, he worked for Citi Bank in the credit initiation unit of Mortgages. He has authored several academic writings including research papers that have been published in both the local and international journals of high repute. He has been interviewed thrice by the Business Plus TV and Islamic Finance TV to provide insights about the contemporary Islamic banking not only in Pakistan but also worldwide. He is the Ph.D. fellow at University of Malaya, Malaysia; specializing in Islamic banking & finance. He also holds an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration-IBA Karachi along with certificate courses of Islamic banking diploma program of Jamia’ Darul Uloom, Karachi.
