The main objective of the biochemistry lab is to learn about the basic composition and function of biomolecules, Different biochemical test to identify the nature of biomolecules and level of different biomolecules such as bilirubin uric acid etc in the body to detect the abnormalities in the body.
COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES (CLO)
CLO: 1. To understand the structure, composition and function of biomolecules. (Level: C1)
CLO: 2. To perform different identification and confirmation tests on Biomolecules. (Level: P3)
CLO: 3. Interpretation of biochemical test to differentiate between normal and diseased conditions. (Level C4)
- QUALITATIVE ANALYSIS OF:
- Carbohydrates, Amino acids, Peptides and Sugar, Uric acid, Proteins, Lipids and Sterols (Cholesterol). Bile salts, Billirubin, Analysis of Cholesterol and Creatinine in Blood.
- QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS OF:
- Carbohydrates-Glucose (reducing sugar) and any other carbohydrate using Benedict and Anthrone method, Amino acids, Peptides and Proteins using Biuret and Ninhydrin (Spectrophotometric) method.
