The Department of Electrical Engineering (EE), through outstanding faculty and state of the art lab facilities, ensures that the engineers of tomorrow are not only well equipped theoretically but also have hands-on knowledge of modern engineering tools. A highly conducive environment including not only class and lab learning, but also co-curricular activities, enables the students to grow professionally as well as personally and ethically.
In EE department, we are offering undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering and MS/PhD degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Our strength lies in our faculty, which includes 10 PhD Engineers qualified from reputed foreign universities, with vast teaching and industry experience. A high standard of class teaching is maintained and the curriculum is periodically updated according to the gap analysis carried out in established processes of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) under the Outcome Based Education (OBE) system. Under this system the progress of students are continuously monitored and assessed against the targets set for them in the courses or other academic activities. The deficiencies and gaps are pointed out as outcomes of these assessments and are ensured to be addressed amicably in CQI.
There are five major research groups where professors are actively involved in research activities and R&D projects. The senior students are associated with these research groups, and this experience gives them the practical experience and flavor of modern technological research. In addition, the students are also encouraged to participate in co-curricular activities through five departmental students’ societies, being run by the students themselves. All these activities, along with the regular counseling activities between teachers and students, have enabled us to create a very healthy learning environment for the students.
In short, we are actively pursuing our mission of becoming the best Engineering Department nationally, and at par with the best, internationally. We are actively pursuing this mission with practical steps. We welcome you to be part of this mission and become leading graduates of the Bachelors, Masters or PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering.
